Grandview Heights to Receive $847,000 for Grandview Yard
Rep. Celeste Announces Clean Ohio Funds for Environmental Remediation
COLUMBUS – State Representative Ted Celeste (D-Grandview Heights) announced today the release of $847,753 by the State Controlling Board for environmental remediation work at the Grandview Yard development in Grandview Heights.
Grandview Yard is a new 80-acre, master-planned development that will transform a blighted area and more than double the number of available jobs in the city. The plan for this public/private partnership includes:
Parks and open green space
1.5-to-2 million square feet of commercial space
600-800 residential units
Potential to create more than 5,000 new jobs
The total project includes more than $500 million in private investment.
“It is exciting to see the development of Grandview Yard moving forward,” Rep. Celeste said. “These Clean Ohio Funds will really help with revitalization and remediation activities at the Yard.”
Demolition of the former Big Bear warehouse and surrounding buildings has already begun. Grandview Yard is currently scheduled to begin taking form this year.
